David Valentiner is an Associate Professor in the Department of Psychology at Northern Illinois University, a Licensed Clinical Psychologist, and Founder and Director of the Anxiety Disorders Service in the Psychological Services Center in the Department of Psychology at Northern Illinois University.
He received his Bachelor of Science degree at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis, and his Masters and Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology at the University of Texas at Austin. He completed his residency (pre-doctoral internship in clinical psychology) at Eastern Pennsylvania Psychiatric Institute at the Medical College of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, and a NIMH Post-Doctoral Fellowship in Developmental Psychopathology at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee. His current research focuses on interpersonal, cognitive, and emotional processes in the development and maintenance of social anxiety and anxiety disorders.
